Built in a real diesel shop. Not a boardroom.

Diesel Genie runs the front desk of a heavy-duty shop: work orders, invoices, parts, tech pay, and every truck’s history. One flat price. Every user included.

Road-tested every day at the working truck shop that built it. Already a customer? Log in here.

From truck in the bay to paid invoice

A tech writes the work order at the truck. A manager reviews and finalizes. Nothing goes out the door unchecked, and the math is exact to the penny.

At the truck

Techs write it up where the work is

Canned jobs and your price list put a full write-up three keystrokes away. Type the VIN, and the year, make, and model fill themselves in.

On the shelf

Parts come off inventory by themselves

Part numbers autofill with your price. Counts go down when the invoice finalizes, and low-stock warnings show up before you run out.

Out the door

A manager finalizes, and it becomes the invoice

Deposits, discounts, and card-fee passthrough are all handled, and every change is written to the shop’s history log.

Need something you don’t see?

Have a feature idea, or something you wish your software did? Tell us and we can build it. Diesel Genie changes constantly, from inside a working shop, with one goal: your shop running as efficiently as possible. Real requests become real features.

Write it up

Work orders that move the way the shop moves.

  • Truck and trailer on one work order. Each line is tagged to the unit it covers, so combined jobs stay straight.
  • Declined repairs come back. When a customer says no, it’s remembered. Next time that truck is in, it’s offered back with one click.
  • Photos ride along. Before and after shots attach to the job and print on the customer’s copy when you turn them on.
  • Every job has a name on it. Salesperson or mechanic, picked from your team list, on every work order.

Get paid

The money side, the way shops actually get paid.

  • Fleet checks split themselves. One lump-sum check across nine open invoices lands oldest-first, automatically.
  • Statements and reminders. Customer statements and automatic overdue-payment reminders go out from the app.
  • Deposits read like a bank statement. Green while the money is on file, red once it pays an invoice, with the exact invoice named.
  • Sales tax the way the state wants it. Reported by the month you got paid, matching the accounting export.
  • Online card payments. Pass the card fee through when you choose. We take 0% of your payments (as of July 2026).

Know your numbers

Every job tells you what you actually made.

  • Profit on every invoice. What you charged, parts at their real average cost, and what’s left after labor pay.
  • Tech pay, three ways. Hourly, flat per billed hour, or percent of labor. The team report shows exactly what you owe each person.
  • Every truck keeps its history. What was done and what it cost, printable for the owner in one click. The repair-or-replace answer, on paper.
  • Pay stays private. Only the owner and the accountant see wages and profit. Techs see their own work and nothing else.

More than one shop

One login runs them all. Each shop keeps its own books.

  • Sign in once, work anywhere. Every shop you own or work at sits in one shop switcher. Two shops open in two tabs never mix their records.
  • Your shops, side by side. Unpaid, overdue, sales this month, and open work for every shop on one Overview page.
  • Shops help each other out. Pull a customer from your other shop with one click, check its parts shelf, and move stock over with a paper trail on both sides.
  • Sharing is your switch. It all starts off. Flip it on to connect your shops; prices, costs, and money never cross between them.

We got tired of software made by people who have never invoiced a brake job. So we built our own, in the shop, between trucks.

Diesel Genie started as one shop’s internal system. A truck repair shop in Charlotte, NC that also runs its own fleet needed work orders, invoicing, and parts tracking that just worked, without enterprise prices or per-user math.

Every screen has been hammered on by the shop itself: real invoices, real fleet checks arriving at 5 pm on Friday, real techs who don’t have time to fight a computer. When a feature slowed the shop down, it got rebuilt until it didn’t.

It’s live now at app.dieselgenie.com, run by the same people every single day, and still improving at shop speed.

Your data is yours

Not marketing lines. Each one of these is how the system is actually built.

  • Your data lives on two clouds, run by two different companies. If one has a bad day, the other has your back.
  • Backups are tested by actually restoring them, every month.A backup you never restore is a hope, not a backup.
  • Every shop’s data lives in its own isolated database. Its own database, opened by its own private key, never mixed with anyone else’s.
  • Nothing is silently deleted. Every change is logged.Invoices void instead of vanishing, and the history says who did what.
  • You can export everything, anytime, even if your account lapses.Your customer list and invoices are never held hostage.

See it running right now on the public status page.

One price. All of it.

The big systems charge per user, so the price grows every time you hire. Diesel Genie doesn’t play that game.

$179 per month, all-in.
Every user included, no per-seat fees.
  • Every feature on this page
  • Unlimited users and logins
  • Free trial to start
  • Nightly backups, restore-tested monthly
  • Export everything, anytime
  • 0% platform fee on card payments (July 2026)

The founding ten

The first ten shops on Diesel Genie lock founding pricing that never goes up. Not for a year. Not until a plan change. Ever.

Own more than one shop? Each location is its own account with its own books: the first is $179, the second $149, the third and beyond $119 a month. One optional paid add-on: private report links for each fleet customer’s drivers. Ask during the demo if you need it.

See it on your own trucks

A 15-minute walkthrough with the people who built it. Bring a real repair order and we’ll write it up live.

Goes straight to the owner’s inbox. We only use this to set up your demo.
